  PS PROSE SPEAKING (SOLO) 
       To speak from memory a piece of published prose of the entrant's own choice. 
       A to E - 3 minutes maximum, F to H - 2 minutes maximum. 

 PR PREPARED READING (SOLO) 
       Award Kirkaldi Shield 
       To read aloud a prepared passage of published prose of the entrant's own choice 
       A – 4 minutes, B to E - 3 minutes maximum and F to H 2 minutes maximum 

 SR SIGHT READING (SOLO) 
       To read aloud a test piece provided at the time of the class. 

SCR SCRIPTURE READING (SOLO) 
       Award: The Mainwaring Salver 
       To read aloud a prepared passage from the Bible or from the Scriptures of the entrant's own religion in English translation. 
       A - F - 3 minutes maximum, G to H - 2 minutes maximum.

CHC CHALLENGE CLASS 
       Prize: Two Cinema Tickets 
       Test: To speak from memory one piece of verse and read aloud one piece of prose linked by a theme. 
       Total performance times A - 6 minutes maximum, B to E - 5 minutes maximum and F to H - 4 minutes maximum
