INTRODUCING THE FESTIVAL
|
||||||||||||||
Welcome to the Coventry Festival of Speech and Drama website. The Festival is held every year on two weekends in November - our current main venue is Bablake School Drama Studio in Coundon, Coventry. The 2008 Festival will be on Saturdays 15th & 22nd November. This year's adjudicator is Jenny Thornton. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for anyone to perform in front of an audience in order to develop literacy, artistic and social skills. What does a Festival offer? Confidence: develop confidence in performing or speaking infront of an audience in a friendly and professional environment. Communication. Being able to speak with authority is a key skill for life; whether a professional presentation or a speech at a party, we give you the opportunity to practise and develop your communication skills. Performance: budding actors, poets or public speakers can develop performance skills in a welcoming atmosphere in front of a professional adjudicator. Evidence of Achievement: All participant receive a certificate showing their level of achievement. Winners in their own age groups win medals and some classes have trophies for winners to keep for a year or other prizes like book tokens or cinema tickets. Fun: most of all the Festival was created for people who enjoy a challenge, who love the thrill of the stage and wish to have fun!
