  The Aims of the Festival

Our aim is to provide an opportunity for anyone to perform in front of an audience in order to develop both artistic and social skills.

What can you or your children get out of it?

Confidence

Develop confidence in performing and speaking in front of an audience in a friendly and professional environment.

Performance

Whether you are, or know, a budding actor, poet or public speaker we provide a chance for you/them to perform in a welcoming atmosphere in front of a professional adjudicator.

Communication

Being able to speak with authority is a key skill of life. Whether a presentation or a speech at a party, we give you the opportunity to practise and develop your communication skills.

Fun

Most of all the festival was created for people who want a challenge, who love the thrill of the stage and most of all wish to have fun performing.

Evidence of Achievement

We give all participants a certificate showing their level of achievement. Winners in their own age groups also win a medal, and some classes have trophies to keep for a year.

The Festival provides a valuable performance opportunity with evidence of achievement which is fully supportive of the National Curriculum in all Key Stages - particularly work done in the literacy hour in KS1 & 2. While we welcome competitors of all abilities and offer both Seedbed (non-competitive) and Competitive classes, the Festival is particularly suitable for Gifted and Talented students.

The Festival Environment

The Festival provides a caring and friendly environment for all participants and audience. The Festival welcomes all amateur performers and reflects the tolerant, multi-cultural and cosmopolitan nature of the city that hosts it. We are particularly aware of the needs of children and other vulnerable people.
